“WERY WOR!” will directly and indirectly address the precarity of the current social, political, and environmental global situation from a diverse set of vantage points. Established in 2019, the HER & BBK artist community at Lankwitzerstrasse has been a microcosm of the Berlin art scene, housing the studios of artists from a multitude of geographic and socio-political backgrounds, now co-existing on the outskirts of Berlin. While each practice represented in “WERY WOR!” is unique, the exhibition coalescences these individual practices into a cohesive, multi-dimensional representation of pressing contemporary topics. Each artist in “WERY WOR!” approaches a given issue utilizing various modes of research, production, and presentation. Approaches range from abstraction to corporeality, and draw from influences ranging from affect theory to theories of time and space. The exhibition will include painting, sculpture, installation, photo, and video.
